Under the Blood Red Sun is about a boy living in Hawaii before and after the attack of Peril Harbor. He is not just any boy, though. He is Japaneese. He is hated by his neighboors, who are also his mother's employers. His father is soon arrested and then his grandfather. He is left to be the man of the family, taking care of his mother and little sister.

- good book

I liked this book, for the most part. It took me a while to get into it, but once you do, is a very good book. I do also hope people read this book to learn what it was like for a Japaneese kid to grow up during that hard time.

This is the Second Book of Pellinor.

This books starts where the last left off. It begins on a ship after Maerad and Cadvan escape Norloc. Maerad and Cadvan are off to find the Tree Song that will save the world. After finding and then separating from her brother, Maerad feels a deep hole in her heart. Now she must face the forses of the Nameless One and try to find the Tree Song all at the same time! This is even more compelling then the last. It will make your love for Pellinor grow deeper.

The Naming starts out with a small skinny 16 year-old girl as a slave. Her name is Maerad. Soon, she meets Cadvan who introduces her to Barding and magery. She embarks on a journy unlike anyother and along the way Cadvan dicovers that she has amazing Bard powers. He also soon dicovers that she is the Chosen One, The Fire Lilly, who will cast down the Nameless One in his next, darkest rising. This is just the first in a series of four by Alison Croggon.

My Review:

I have read all four books. They are AMAZING!! I recomend EVERYONE to read them. Once you read them you can't put them down! The final book comes out in the US in May, 2009! I loved these books sooo much, I ordered one from www.amazon.uk.com! I read it and LOVED it! So pick up The Naming (also called The Gift) at a bookseller near you!
